Have you, or do you know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer?WELCOME
We understand about waiting for results, receiving a cancer diagnosis and the treatments involved. We do hope we can help by inviting you to one of our monthly support group meetings where you will meet others in a similar situation.
Support is essential, whether it is from family members, friends or a specialist group. No matter how confident we may feel a lot of the time, there are always those times when we feel the need for a bit of help. Just knowing there are others in the same situation, who have felt like us and gone through the same anxieties, really does help.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month 6.45pm-8.45pm at The Beardwood Hospital, Preston New Road, Blackburn, BB2 7AECONTACTS:
All of us know what it's like to go through diagnosis, treatments, waiting for results and so on. We have seen hundreds of ladies over the years at the group. It is heart-warming to see them return to good health and get on with their lives.
Here are some inspiring messages from members:
“We just have to think that it is just a temporary measure and it will pass before we know it! Hope everyone keeps well. We have all managed the cancer and hopefully can stay strong with the virus.”
“It's a shame about having to cancel the Beardwood meetings (and the keep fit) but we just have to remember that it's for the best and remember that it’s just a temporary measure. We've fought cancer and we can fight the virus should we need to.”
We’ve enjoyed getting together for keep fit – “the Monday Movers” at the East Lancashire Hospice. Thank you to Alison, Maggie and Michelle for running this group and look forward to returning. Meanwhile, are we doing a bit of Tai Chi and dancing to pop music at home? I do hope so!
Take care, everyone. Look after yourselves and your loved ones.
